The RATLab is a research collective at WPI focusing on the convergence of music and technology through two labs: the Electric Guitar Innovation Lab (EGIL) and the Interactive Music Systems Lab (IMSLab). Through these labs, our team of researchers, musicians, professionals, and student Lab RATs and ARAs develop and implement new technologies and approaches to facilitate music composition, performance, and education with both musicians and non-musicians. Specifically, this is accomplished through the creation of technology-based instruments, electronics, composition algorithms, interactive systems, research experiments, and proofs-of-concept.
